We continuously ask ourselves, how can we capture the cultural heritage of a structure while making its story relevant today? We feel that we accomplished this with Casas na Areia. As with all our houses, we came to understand the importance of people within memory, history, and place. Sharing life’s experiences with others is the essence of community and humanity.

The home’s renovation was carried out by our good friend and architect, Manuel Aires Mateus. What has now become a signature of Silent Living, the unique design connects the nature of a place with contemporary architecture, all the while honoring the simplicity of the original fishing hut.

HOUSE 1 The traditional thatched house holds the living area, with a fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals, a long wooden table, and relaxing sofas to contemplate the view. The sand floor (heated in winter) invites guests to slow down, encouraging serenity and togetherness.
HOUSE 2 & 3 These simple white houses each have a bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The atmosphere is cool and calm, with incredible views. .
HOUSE 4 This house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which are connected. However they can easily be used independently. An ideal solution for those with children.

Casas na Areia has a small swimming pool that faces the beautiful rice fields, providing refreshment during hot summer days.

Low-Season - January to March | November to December
